For businesses and organizations that use multiple work stations and multiple ID card printers to manage their ID card program, AlphaCard ID Suite Print Server makes it easy to manage up to five ID card printers at once.
By connecting multiple work stations to several printers, you can easily design and print large numbers of ID cards. All users will have access to the connected card printers and databases.
Why Choose Print ServerThe Print Server software is for organizations that need to print 500 to 1,000 cards per day and makes it easy to connect multiple ID card printers to the computer so you can manually divide the print job between the different printers.
For example, your department need to print 600 ID cards and you have three card printers. If you have three users in the software, they can assign 200 cards to each of the printers – those three printers will print simultaneously and finish the job much faster than a single printer handling all 600 cards.
Using Print Server SoftwareTo use Print Server, you must also have Business Server. The Business Server edition is only available for the Standard, Professional, and Elite:
- AlphaCard ID Suite Standard: for medium to large organizations
- AlphaCard ID Suite Professional: MS SQL, MySQL, SQLite, Oracle, ODBC/OLE connectivity
- AlphaCard ID Suite Elite: advanced security, connect multiple external databases
AlphaCard ID Suite Print Server comes with five licenses. The Print Server edition allows the software to be installed on an unlimited number of computers and used on five computers concurrently. Additional licenses can be purchased in bundles of five to allow the software to be used simultaneously on more than five computers.
When using the Print Server, users can either share one central database with all the cardholder information or have individual databases saved locally on each computer. All users will have access to the networked ID card printers.
System RequirementsAlphaCard ID Suite Print Server can be used with all PVC card printers. AlphaCard ID Suite is not currently supported on Tablets or Surfaces. Please call with questions regarding compatibility with any hardware platforms not mentioned here.
System requirements: 32 or 64 bit Windows Operating System (Windows 7, 8, 10), Server Operating System (Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012). Explorer 6 or higher, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or higher, dual core processor, 1 GB of free internal memory (32 bit) or 2 GB of free internal memory (64 bit), 200 MB of free disk space, and an internet connection for automatic activation and online help files.
