The VALCam USB Zoom+ Camera’s features make it easy to produce clear and detailed images for photo ID cards. The VALCam model boasts high-grade CCD sensors and newly configured high-quality optics that allow the camera to easily capture images with a portrait mode so ID photos match photo ID aspect ratios on most card designs. A custom cropping option allows camera operators to view photos as they would appear when printed on an ID card.

With a high-intensity flash the VALCam USB Zoom+ Camera is capable of capturing images from 18 inches up to 14 feet. Since the flash is integrated with the camera, no batteries are required and a new white balance mode provides greater color accuracy for the final images. Camera operators have Full-Optical-Zoom control using the mouse or keyboard, and Auto-Focus using software controls.

The VALCam camera comes with a full-featured SDK (software developer kit) that allows software developers to integrate the VALCam USB Zoom+ Camera into their applications. With an optional administrative lock, users can monitor and manage camera controls to maintain the consistency of ID photos throughout a specific ID program. The VALCam comes with an integrated USB 1.1 or 2.0 interface.
